SHELLEY ARMISTEAD

The creative executive behind Gjelina restaurant group and our new favorite store Gjusta Goods takes us on a special tour inside her home, showing us her most treasured pieces and giving insight into how she curates a beautiful life.

“I’d describe my personal style as pretty casual, mostly denim with vintage pieces thrown in. I don’t like scruffy but I also don’t like wearing anything that draws too much attention to myself. The industry I am in, it really is about the food, the people and the atmosphere that make the experience, not what I am wearing.”

“My house is flooded in photos of my family, my core, or photos taken by someone I love.”

“When I first moved to LA and was opening up Soho House West Hollywood I was working crazy hours. I would go into Sielian vintage store on Melrose to get away in the afternoons. That broach was a treat for myself post doing another opening.”

“This dress is a 1920’s embroidered Hungarian dress picked up at a flea market. I am a sucker for smocking. I love all clothes from that time... I think when you’re looking for great vintage you need to have an idea of what you are after – the period or style or material. If you can find sources in Eastern Europe and Australia, I find them to be of great quality and price point. Otherwise flea markets and estate sales.”
